Adult Child Interaction
Adult Child Interaction is a tool for practitioners to develop self-reflection and to self-evaluate their practice. Initially this is done through 2 video sessions, but if more are required these can be discussed.
The video sessions will be carried out with a practitioner, a child and trained Language Development Worker in your setting.
The practitioner and Language Development Worker will look at the interaction between the child and practitioner, working on their strengths and interaction styles that work well. Through discussion and self-evaluation, strategies will be agreed and put in to place ready for the next videoing session which will take place approximately 4-6 weeks later.

Staff have definitely changed their practice as a result of the Adult/Child videoing sessions, (the Language Development Worker) recorded the staff then fed back to them with suggestions on how they could improve on their interactions.
